Event is rain or shine! We have seating for 500 people under the main tent.


Join us for the 2nd Annual Bluegrass and Beyond Music Festival in Harmony, PA. Two days of music this year: Friday evening, September 6, 2013 for Blues/R&B and all day Saturday, September 7, 2013, for Bluegrass and Beyond featuring headliner The Honeycutters and twelve more bands.

The Festival will be held throughout the town of Harmony, located just 28 miles north of downtown Pittsburgh in Butler County, PA. Family friendly! Designated parking areas, nearby camping, food available.

Bruce Mountjoy of WYEP radio will be emceeing Saturday's show!

Tickets are available online and at the gate.

Friday, September 6: Blues/Rhythm & Blues. Gates open at 5:30; Music begins at 6:30.

Saturday September 7: Bluegrass and Beyond. All day from 9am 'til 10pm (gates open at 10am; last band begins at 7pm). There will be all-day jam sessions in town also.

Tickets are available online and at the gate in the Bottlebrush Gallery, adjacent to the festival tent. Cash or credit cards accepted.

Billy Price, east coast blue-eyed soul man, has been entertaining audiences for the past four decades. In his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa., he is an institution. Price formed The Billy Price Band in 1990. Members of the Billy Price Band are Steve Delach (guitar), Jason Hollar (bass), Dave Dodd (drums), Jimmy Britton (keyboards), Joe Herndon (trumpet), and Eric DeFade (tenor sax).

Danny Kalb has long been recognized as one of America's foremost guitarists. He is best known as the founding member of the legendary the Blues Project along with Al Kooper, a band that became one of the best-loved of the mid '60's, developing a strong national following and influencing untold numbers of aspiring young blues guitarists.

Danny founded the Blues Project in 1965. One of the classic bands of the period, their The Blues Project Live at Cafe Au Go-Go won great critical acclaim and won them their first gold record. On this album Danny's signature tune "Alberta," a soft ballad and "Down To Louisiana," a rocking electric blues, established him as one of the preeminent blues players of his generation. Four albums followed that cemented their place in rock history.

From the western foothills of the Allegheny Mountains, Pennsylvania's Allegheny Drifters are one of the strongest vocal bands on the bluegrass scene today. Their pure harmonies, Seasoned entertainers, they breathe new life and excitement into the music on stages everywhere.

Border Ride

The group blends award-winning musical backgrounds into cohesive traditional bluegrass standards, progressive non-traditional Newgrass numbers and original compositions. The band fuses moving vocal harmonies and inspired musicianship. Border Ride formed after collaborating during Friday night sessions at Variety on the Square in Mercer, Pa., and look to grow from their Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio roots.

The Rowan Cunningham Band, featuring the Rowan Brothers - Chris and Lorin - and Sue Cunningham is creating quite a stir in both the Americana and Bluegrass music scenes. The acoustic trio, working with guitars, mandolin and fiddle, is a musical tour de force with outstanding three-part harmony on original tunes that appeal to a broad audience.

Midnight Drive is one of the newest and most powerful bands of the Northwestern PA area. Starting as a jam session at the Clarion Bluegrass festival in March of 2010, they quickly became what is now "Midnight Drive". The members consists of some of the strongest pickers of the Northeastern part of the country.

North Allegheny Fiddlers

The N.A. Fiddlers, under the direction of Dennis Morton, a string teacher at McKnight and Ingomar Elementary in the North Allegheny School District, was organized in 2002 for students within the district interested in expanding their love and knowledge of music. The students representing the N.A. Fiddlers are in grades 6 through 12. These fiddlers participate in a weeklong workshop during the summer months. Tunes are taught and learned in the traditional aural style, meaning by ear and without the use of written notes. Local folk musician Mark Tamsula attends each workshop and presents the students with a variety of styles including Scottish, Irish, Old Timey, Scandinavian and Cajun.

Tiger Maple String Band

Tiger Maple String Band is an energetic collection of talented musicians dedicated to continuing traditional and original old time music. Residing in Northwest Pennsylvania, our rural setting gives plenty of inspiration towards the continuance of acoustic music. The band features Lori Burke on vocals and guitar, Justine and Alison Parker on Fiddle, Barry Smith on Banjo, and Fred Parker on Guitar and vocals.

A five piece band out of the Slippery Rock, PA. area that has been playing traditional and nontraditional bluegrass music since June of 2004. The members come from fairly diverse backgrounds which allow them to create and cover music from different genres all in a bluegrass style. Well Strung enjoys playing live and never fails to get the audience involved in their shows.

Alcohol

Please note! No alcohol is allowed in the immediate event area due to borough and fire company restrictions. An alternate site will be available for coolers close to the event area; please look for signs.


Where

The Town of Harmony. Main Stage for both days, located in the Harmony Fire Company parking lot, easily accessible from Main Street. Second stage for Fiddling and Clogging is at The Center of Harmony. There will be food and art vendors, open shops and stores all day.

FROM PITTSBURGH: I-79 N. Go to exit 87 of I-79 N. (Zelienople-Harmony Rt. 68). From exit turn left onto Rt. 68 W. Turn right in front of McCrackin Motorsports dealership. Follow signs for festival parking.


FROM ERIE: I-79 S. to exit 88 (Zelienople-Harmony). Turn right off exit ramp. Follow signs for festival parking.


FROM YOUNGSTOWN: U.S. 422 east to I-79 S. to exit 88 (Zelienople-Harmony). Turn right off exit ramp. Follow signs for festival parking.
